5/7/2025 LIRR bi-level train 512 to Oyster Bay with 406 DE30 leading and 5008 trailing passes by the Elm Ave railroad crossing in Glen Cove NY on the LIRR Oyster Bay Branch. One feature about this crossing is that it still retains both of its original older 2nd generation WCH mechanical bells from when these signals were installed and not only that, they sound very healthy too. This crossing still retains all paralellogram striped gates as well as all incandescent gate lights as well. Not often you see that on many LIRR crossings anymore. This crossing retains most of it's original parts from when they were installed with the exception of the retrofitted GE uniform look LEDs in the WCH lights and most likely the road barriers. You can see Cedar Swamp Rd in the distance. I ended up filming that one after this one for my first video there since early 2023.
