For those who also own a Volvo Kinetic, Volvo's entry-level model, in this case a 2009 V70 20F generation III, you will have noticed that there is no USB port on the dashboard or centre console. The only way to charge your phone in the Volvo V70, and certainly in the V50 and C30 Kinetic models, is via the cigarette lighter. This is located in the middle of the centre console, away from the dashboard, and even further more from the windscreen, if you're using a suction cup smartphone holder. It's not possible for me to see a charging cable running along the centre console, in the middle of the gear lever and dashboard. It's inesthetic and dangerous ! So I decided to add 2 USB ports behind the centre console, to be as close as possible to the dashboard.
