Through LGBTQ community support in the NGLCC conference, Marti was able to peel away the shame she had been holding onto that allowed her to free herself up and show up in a bold way. As a woman and lesbian in the workplace, she found the fuel she needed to grow her own inclusive, LGBT certified business specializing in natural lighting: lumenomics. Through lumenomics, Marti is able to create advocates for change in a male-dominated industry to show minorities, women and LGBTQ folks belong there without having to justify themselves. As she pioneers her way to unwind the current system and invest in people outside of the typical construction scope, Marti encourages fellow entrepreneurs to also create a safe environment for LGBTQ employees to thrive.
