Pelops was rescued by the Gods and made king after his father Tantalus was thrust into the underworld. This young man wanted to marry Hippodamia but her father had killed 13 previous suitors and challenged Pelops to a chariot race for the hand of his daughter. In the story of 'Niobe', this proud woman had fourteen children, seven boys, and seven girls and when the people wanted to make offerings to the goddess Leto she became angry and said she was better than the goddess. The goddess Leto's twin children Apollo and Artemis decided to take care of the prideful woman and left on clouds with quivers full of arrows. What happens to Niobe and her children is tragic and a story you should hear. In today's final story of Salmoneus, this boastful man thinks he is as great as a god and pretends he is Zeus.
