Roy’s Peak is a fantastic day walk located just out from Wanaka in South Island New Zealand and overlooks the stunning Lake Wanaka for the entirety of its climb. The trail is recommended by Department of Conservation to take about 5-6 hours return and whilst being relentless in its climb doesn’t have any sections of technical difficulty (scrambling, steep steps ect) making it perfect for hiking, day walking and trail running! New Zealand and especially the South Island has SO much to explore and so many incredibly pretty places that I can’t wait to get out to soon.
