Bobcat sighting has officials warning about mating season

The City of Sugar Land is warning families in the Greatwood subdivision to beware of a bobcat after a neighbor snapped a picture of the wild cat perched on a fence. "He's about two and a half feet long I'm guessing, that's without the tail," said John Shockley. His wife first spotted the animal Tuesday afternoon on Berrytree Lane. "It worries me for the little pets, especially for the cats," said one of Shockley's neighbors. Shockley says it's not a first for their community. "We had another bobcat, showed up right before Christmas and they relocated that one," he said. Chris Bishop, the Superintendent for the Brazos Bend State Park, says these wild animals do not want to interact with humans, but says they do make their way into residential areas.
