New track (March 2026): Created from late '90s field recordings, cassette demos, samples & voicemails—from forthcoming The Slow Dissolve of Tomorrow EP. Inspired by someone who believed in something that was never real. -- Monographs Lost is the ambient and electronic project of Daniel Budden, based in Cornwall, England, primarily built around cassette recordings made in the 1990s using an Atari ST running Cubase, Roland SH‑101, Juno‑6, and JV‑30 synthesisers, with additional material sourced from VHS video, telephone calls, shortwave radio, and ambient microphones. The music combines field recordings, found sounds, and 8‑bit sampling, shaped by the limitations of vintage hardware, low‑cost recording setups, and an experimental approach to composition. These recordings, archived for over thirty years, have been digitised and released as an ongoing series. Future work will include new material developed through the same methods.
