Anyone visiting Türkiye immediately experiences “the grand beauty of the landscape”, especially upon entering the Bosphorus Strait which intersects Istanbul. The Bosphorus connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, and forms part of “the continental boundary between Asia and Europe”. The clear seas, the sea gulls, and the shifting light transform Istanbul into “a land of dreams”. Everywhere one looks, it seems that “fate and destiny” had been biased in blessing Türkiye with these “magnificent natural possessions”. And within the uniqueness of the landscape, one also comes to a greater understanding as to how Turkish Art has accomplished its “borderless qualities”, while maintaining its diverse nature throughout history. In this episode, our Spirit of Asia team takes “the artistic road” upon which many ethnic groups had long traveled. The Turks brought in art forms from different places, and further developed the branches and derivatives of those art forms into “new dimensions”.
