You'll travel through an abandoned mine, which can present a special set of problems, including narrow passages and uphill racing. Avoid the shortcut in the mine unless you're really good at jumping. This is a good race to do quickly in Chapter 4 as you get an extra boost tank (the third one available) for winning, and you'll unlock some roads you need for getting the final four postcards for Lizzie.
