When you first get your Ego, be sure to fully charge it before use. You can charge it with the USB cable that was included in the package and plug it into your computer while the computer is turned on or you can use the wall plug adapter, which is sold separately. It's important that you do not use a third party wall charger because the incorrect voltage may damage the camera. After you have charged the camera fully for first time use, be sure to insert a class six or higher micro SD card no larger than 32 gigabytes. To start, turn on the camera by pressing the power button for two seconds. You'll hear a beep and the camera will turn on. On start up, the camera will be in 720p at 60 fps with a blue light indication. It will also display 720 on the LCD screen. Push the power button and the mode will change to 1080, you will see the light has changed to green and the LCD screen shows 1080. Push the power button again and the mode will change to still image. The light will now be red and the LCD screen will have a box in the upper right corner. Push the power button one more time and you will be in continuous picture mode. The light will change to purple and the LCD screen will display two stacked boxes in the upper right corner. Let's go back to 720p mode by pushing the power button one more time and we'll record a video. To record a video, press the shutter button. You should hear a beep and the light will begin to flash indicating that the camera is recording. This is the same in both 720 and 1080 modes. Next, let's practice shooting a still image. Push the power button until the light turns red. Now you're in still image mode. To take a picture, press the shutter button. There will be a beep and you will see the light blink, indicating that a picture has been taken. To take photos in continuous photo mode, press the power button once and the light will change to purple. To take photos, press the shutter button and the light will blink each time a photo is taken.
