This seminar was presented as part of the 2022 Healthy Working Lives Seminar Series. What do we know about secondary psychological conditions in workers' compensation? Mental health problems are common in society and also among people making workers’ compensation claims. Over the past decade there has been growing awareness of the prevalence of secondary psychological conditions in workers making claims for physical injury or disease, and how these can complicate recovery and return to work. Join Professor Alex Collie (Director of the Healthy Working Lives Research Group at Monash University) and Dr Dielle Felman (Director of Work Life Well and Consultant Psychiatrist) as they present Australian and global data on the prevalence and impacts of secondary psychological conditions. We will also explore how our worker’s compensation and healthcare systems are identifying and supporting workers with these conditions. There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions at the end of the session. This event is part of the 2022 Healthy Working Lives Seminar Series, we'll cover a range of very recent research in prevention and recovery from occupational injury and illness, from our major #DrivingHealth and #COMPARE project
