He's also the author of "QUANTITATIVE ASSET MANAGEMENT: Factor Investing and Machine Learning for Institutional Investing," published by McGraw Hill on June 6, 2023. Additionally, he holds key positions on the boards of Blythestone Corporation and UEC, a hedge fund. Michael contributes insights regarding governance, strategy, and investments. His career commenced in nuclear physics at RTI before venturing into electronic warfare at ASD, a subsidiary of Northrop. Later, he became a proprietary trader at Oppenheimer/CIBC, managing substantial portfolios with consistent profits. Afterwards, he managed portfolios focused on prime loans and derivatives at Washington Mutual's treasury. He moved on to ECR Capital Management, a hedge fund, where he took on the role of Chief Investment Risk Officer for Utah Retirement Systems, handling $16 billion in assets.
