Hunting Ducks AND Pheasants On A Public Land Pothole | Duck Hunting 2024

On the last day of our duck hunting trip in South Dakota we headed out to a pothole that had more ducks than we had seen anywhere else on the public land around us. Once we got to the spot in the morning I realized that I had left my waders at the lodge so I hurried back to grab them while Nolan and Drew set up the decoys. I made it back just a couple minutes after shooting time to see the sky filled with ducks and before long we had a mixed bag of ducks down. The flight slowed down throughout the morning but we were still able to pick off a few stragglers until they started to land on another pothole that was at the other end of the public ground. Nolan and I decided to try pheasant hunting our way over there in hopes of jump shooting the ducks to get the birds interested in our spread again.
