We as overlanders tend to travel remote. Far away from civilisation. That's the way we like it. But during a life or death situation a PLB (a Personal Locator Beacon) can be a life saver. Many new comers to the overlandning lifestyle ask me what is a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) and why should I have a PLB. In this video I answer all these questions and also answer the question - is a PLB necessary for outback travel. In short with a PLB, in the event of a life and death situation you are able to get a distress signal via satellite to the closest search and rescue centre and this is why every overlander should have a PLB.
