Join us for the February 2025 Fire Safe Sonoma Speaker Series! This month Fire Safe Sonoma is excited to host local burn experts, Erika Lutz and Devyn Friedfel. With prescribed burning as the central theme of this month, our guests will give an overview of prescribed burn basics, the benefits of it to our California ecosystem, and their experiences and roles in this exciting field! Devyn Friedfel, a Sonoma County native, developed a passion for land stewardship while studying at Santa Rosa Junior College, later gaining experience in ecological restoration and fire management along California’s central coast. Now Pepperwood’s Fire and Stewardship Manager, he oversees land management, wildfire recovery, and prescribed burns while completing his Master’s in Wildland Management at Chico State. Erika (she/they) is an artist, educator, and storyteller dedicated to fostering social resilience and deepening our relationship with fire through their work at Audubon Canyon Ranch. As Fire Forward’s Prescribed Fire Information Coordinator, a founding member of the Forestville Fire Safe Council (and more!), they blend communication, community outreach, and ecological knowledge to support fire awareness and restoration efforts. Don't miss this chance to learn about how to perform prescribed burns yourself, it's benefits to our ecosystem, and the unique roles that Devyn and Erika play in this field. Be sure to register for our next Speaker Series held on Thursday, March27th, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regis...
