Gatuanyaga, Thika East gets its first stretch of tarmac road since independence

After years of waiting and agony, residents of Gatuanyaga Division in Thika East Sub-County can now breathe a sigh of relief after actualization of their first ever stretch of tarmac road in the area. The first phase of the 24 kilometres that is expected to stretch from Muguga-Ngurai-Munyu-Githima-Kang'oki-Kisii and back to the Thika-Garissa Highway has been completed with the tarmacking of the Muguga-Ngurai 4 kilometres stretch. This is a big milestone project as the residents have suffered since independence especially during the rainy seasons. Area MP Alice Ng’ang’a called for patience as she promised to lobby for more funding from government to do the next 6 kilometres to Munyu area. She expressed her excitement over the new developments noting that it had taken more than 4 years to actualise this dream due to lack of funding.
