PRE-METRO - Antwerp tramway network (De Lijn) I BELGIUM I Model: Albatros

The tramway network in Antwerp consists of 14 lines from which 8 of them pass through underground (called Antwerp pre-metro). The total track length is currently 116.6km (as of 2025). It is under operation from De Lijn from 1991. It is worth to note that De Lijn also operates in Leuven, Ghent, Blankenberge, Mechelen and Hasselt which all have the same ticket prices despite one of the cities having only buses and another ones trams + buses. In this video you can see an example of pre-metro system. I'm travelling on line 15 which goes from Regatta - Boechout and has 28 stops (having 6 stops in the tunnel). It takes around 44min to complete. The model of the tram is Albatros came in operation from 2015 which can have a maximum speed of 70km/h. Please note that the line 15 also uses an older tram model called HermeLijn which came in the operation by the end of 90s.
