Tanzania to Host Prestigious World Travel Awards 2025 for Africa & Indian Ocean Tanzania has been honored with the opportunity to host the World Travel Awards (WTA) Africa & Indian Ocean Gala 2025, set to take place on June 28 in Dar es Salaam. The announcement was made by Ephraim Balozi-Mafuru, Director-General of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), who hailed the event as a major endorsement of Tanzania’s tourism sector. The WTA, often referred to as the “Oscars of the travel industry,” will bring together over 1,000 key players from more than 30 African countries, showcasing Tanzania’s leadership in tourism. Last year, Tanzania secured multiple WTA wins, including Best Safari Destination, Best National Park (Serengeti), and Best Tourist Attraction (Mount Kilimanjaro).
