It was among the first few recordings I made after building my own studio (the mix is actually pretty good!), and a huge musical departure from my previous bands. The album begins with a declaration of my independence, stating "my dream is dead now / it was buried by all of you." My confidence wanes after a few songs, and it becomes clear that this is a transitional record of sorts. I was trying to find my new voice, and it wasn't an easy process. I kinda buried this album from my discography because some of the singing is pretty rough. I was over-singing because of my recent vocal lessons, and — mixed with my newfound desire to record everything in a single take — the spontaneous performances didn't always make for a better song.
