This is kind of humbling. In 2015 my old schoolmate and friend Ken Johnson, out in California, thinking that because I work sometimes in the film industry (as an extra, though we like to call it "background artist")--that I know how to make movies. I don't. At least not to the level of comfort or competence with good equipment needed to do something right. So I was surprised one day when Ken messaged me and told me to go to the nearest APPLE store to pick up a brand new iMac. A gift for me to keep no matter what, but with the added request - try to make a movie. So I tried to get started on something I was familiar with. At the time no one was thinking of making a documentary about Jackson C. Frank--not enough material to make it viable, which was, as I learned soon enough, true. Without the resources to travel around the world to do interviews etc all I could come up with was this minute and a half trailer for the documentary that would never be made. By me, anyway. When I realized it wasnt going to happen I stuck it away in a folder and have not seen it since 2015. A month or two ago, it was announced French director Damien Dupont had completed his own project about JCF, called BLUES RUN THE GAME;THE STRANGE TALE OG JACKSON C FRANK, several trailers which had been here on YouTube for a few years while Damien finished the movie. Even French directors have over spent their resources. A Kickstarter campaign helped his to get it done. He did it though I never showed Damien my little trailer, and was very surprised that his first one was very very much like mine as a way to pull in the viewer. So, to Ken Johnson, i say thank you for the iMac, and Im sorry I couldnt do what you had in mind. But, there is this!
