The last family gathering Katrina planned was a big birthday bash. It was the weekend before Thanksgiving in 2016. Katrina had been a beloved and respected member of the nursing staff at Retreat Doctors' Hospital since July 2003. She was the Nursing House supervisor at night. Katrina did all this while pursuing her master's degree in nursing leadership. However, she loved being at home with her husband and children when she wasn't working on her personal career. Alvin Banks, a former Marine, was a successful RV salesman in Richmond, Virginia. The couple had a young son and daughter.
