KCM Partner Testimony – A God-Given Purpose

KCM Partner Dr. Avery Jackson’s grandmother had a stroke when he was in the second grade. At the age of only 8, he asked the Lord, “How can I help people who have brain problems like my grandma?” The Lord responded to him saying, I want you to be a neurosurgeon. As an 8-year-old, Avery had no clue what that even was, so he looked it up and told God that he would do it. He expected the level of academics it would require of him, but not the amount of favor and faith it would take. He made the decision to trust what the Holy Spirit spoke to him at just 8 years old and—despite all the doubt and rejection along the way, he stuck to it! By relying on God’s promise to him all those years ago, he was able to obtain a scholarship to the University of Chicago that would lead him to attend four years of medical school. Dr. Avery was then accepted into Northwestern University for the first part of his residency and spent an additional five years finishing it out at Penn State University. He was granted a complex spine fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and then went to work at a private practice which he eventually bought. It was quite the journey—one he completely credits to God. Avery Jackson was just a child when he first discovered his God-given purpose, and it was through his grandparents that he would eventually partner with Kenneth Copeland Ministries to utilize that purpose for God’s glory. You see, his grandparents thoroughly enjoyed Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s teachings when he was growing up. This exposure eventually led to Avery and his sister attending one of Brother Copeland’s crusades as young teens—a moment that sparked the beginning of an important spiritual connection. After partnering with and praying for KCM, Dr. Avery was blessed by the Lord with the opportunity to help Brother Copeland directly. Through faith, obedience and perseverance, Dr. Jackson can fully walk in his God-given purpose as a neurosurgeon, as well as the host of his VICTORY Channel show, The God Prescription—a show which allows him to show people a clearer picture of who God is through the lens of science. He is so thankful to be able to use his gifts to bless the Copelands!
