Setting up the Tarp in Rain — Making Dinner

It’s been raining a lot lately, so I bring my tarp and head out to one of my favorite spots, a secluded beach near Svolvær in Lofoten, Norway. I set up the tarp using my ski/trekking poles, and make a simple dinner consisting of mashed potatoes and summer sausage. It’s also been snowing on the mountain tops nearby, and the temperature was around 2-3 degrees C (36 degrees Fahrenheit). Camping on the beach is quite pleasant, except for all the sticky sand when it’s wet like this, which is why I rinse all my gear in the lake before heading home.
