Tip-82; High-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (HAMN) is a rare appendiceal tumor, that tends to occur in adults, with an equal male-to-female ratio, characterized by high-grade mucinous epithelial proliferation, subepithelial fibrosis, absence of lymphoid follicles, circumferential calcification, a broad pushing margin, rupture, and mucinous peritoneal dissemination. Importantly, there is no evidence of destructive or infiltrative invasion, otherwise, this will be considered an adenocarcinoma. Remember that mucin, with or without epithelial cells, that involves peritoneal surfaces beyond the appendix is staged as pM1a if the mucin is acellular and pM1b if the mucin contains epithelial cells.
