At bauma 2016, Komatsu launched its new hybrid excavator HB365LC-3. The 36-tonnes machine saves energy from swing slow down into an ultra capacitor located next to the excavator boom. Later, the electric energy can be re-used by an electric motor to power the swing or aid the diesel engine. This is Komatsu’s second hybrid excavator after the 21-tonne HB215LC-2 Hybrid.
