→ Join me on this very monumental (for me) flight between Tucson and Denver aboard this Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8! Why is it monumental, you ask? Two reasons. This flight got UPGRADED to a MAX (not downgraded to a -800, like usual) and I got to experience arguably the worst turbulence into Denver I've ever had. See for yourself. It was quite the doozy. We begin at Tucson's gate A4, push back and head for runway 11L. As we climb off 11L, we get graced by the beautiful city of Tucson, the Catalina Mountains, and the Mogollon Rim as we head northeast. After flying over the state of New Mexico and then into the state of Colorado, we begin our initial descent into Denver, getting woken up by the moderate to severe turbulence created by the Rockies and the Front Range. The turbulence starts around 1:27:30 and lasts pretty much the remainder of the flight. I can honestly say it felt like my head was going right and my butt was going left. The turbulence definitely reached the 'severe' category as it felt as if the pilots lost control a few times. See for yourself. I've never seen wings flap that much. Ever. As we continue the descent into Denver, we make a series of adjustments to line up for and land on Denver's runway 34R very smoothly a while later. For once, we actually have an open gate to park at, significantly reducing our taxi time. We set brakes at gate C31, where my sister and I await our next flight on this same plane and this full flight comes to an end. I hope you enjoy this turbulent full flight as much as I did, and, as always, all the flight information you could ever desire can be found below! → Flight info: Airline: Southwest Airlines Flight Number: 2520 Aircraft Type: Boeing 737 MAX 8 Registration Number: N8803L Livery: Heart Seat: 20A Flight date: April 5, 2022 Passenger Count: 175/175 Departure Airport: Tucson International Airport, Tucson, Arizona Arrival Airport: Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado Departure Gate: A4 Arrival Gate: C31 Departure Time: 7:10AM MST (Schd. 6:55AM MST) (15 minutes LATE) Arrival Time: 9:59AM MDT (Schd. 9:50AM MDT) (9 minutes LATE) Departure Runway: 11L Arrival Runway: 34R Flight Duration: (Including Taxi) 1 hour 49 minutes Link to Flight Route: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N...
