As we've discussed in past Getting Technical installments, measuring your pH and keeping it within the desired range is important for achieving success in your grow - no matter what you're growing. Today we dive into that a bit deeper and discuss some of the elements that affect your pH, so that you can better understand what's going on if you see your pH rising or dropping. One of the most important aspects of understanding your pH is to understand what sort of alkalinity you're dealing with in your water. If you're using an RO system, you're alkalinity might be pretty low, which means the buffering capacity might be lower. On the other hand if you're growing in tap water, you might be at odds with high alkalinity in your source water. Today we take a look at what to do in either of those situations, and talk about how your fertilizer source plays a role in that as well. Let's Get Technical!
