Giant Steps | Not As Hard As You Think

Giant Step's isn't the mythological pinnacle of jazz or improvisation that a lot of people make it out to be. At least not in terms of its difficulty and how you might approach playing the tune. Don't get me wrong, it very much IS one of the greatest jazz tunes ever written, and has taught immense amounts of information over the decades I've been working on it. I just think it should be more approachable and less out of reach, and when you break it down to its most basic elements it can definitely become that for most players. We're looking at it in the context of the EXERCISE it was originally written as, and decoding the tune to give everyone access to the incredible value it contains.
