Here, I have modified my Oktava MK-319 condenser microphone. This video shows the modification process and has a before audio sample and an after audio sample. So, that you can be the judge as to whether the modifications make a difference. Unfortunately, Youtube does have some influence on the audio. So, it won't be a true demonstration of the difference. But, I hope that it comes through enough to demonstrate that there is a difference. This video only shows the mechanical modifications. I have not done any electronic modifications to this microphone. I plan on doing that, in the future. Once again, if you try to replicate this procedure yourself YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESULTS. I WILL NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ANYONE'S MIC, IF YOU CHOOSE TO TRY THIS YOURSELF!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! IF DONE INCORRECTLY, THIS CAN DAMAGE YOUR MICROPHONE!! I highly recommend sending your mic to a qualified professional, such as Michael Joly at OktavaMod or another one of the qualified individuals that do these modifications for a living. I am not affiliated with any organization and don't want to endorse any of them simply because I have yet to have any experience with them. Hopefully, I have not offended anyone through omission. I saw enough flame wars on the recording forums to last a lifetime. OktavaMod's site is: http://www.oktavamod.com/ The original article that these modifications are based on is: http://www.recordingmag.com/resources... I hope that everyone finds this video informative and entertaining. I learned a ton through this endeavor and had fun, in the process. Plus, I like the mic much more, now. So, I think that this was a win/win experience. Thank you for watching. I wish everyone luck in their recording pursuits and please subscribe. Thank you.
