This morning, a quiet and efficient team from Takara Standard arrived to begin assembling our new unit bath—a fully integrated bathing room that includes a deep soaking tub, adjustable shower wand, and ceiling-mounted laundry dryer for those long rainy stretches of spring. ☔🧺 Out front, they strung up a tarp to protect materials from the drizzle. Inside, every corner was carefully prepped—cardboard lining the floor, tools arranged with precision, every movement deliberate. There’s a craftsmanship to it, almost like watching a ritual quietly unfold. Our new bath will include a remote control panel in the kitchen where Yumiko can press a button to fill the tub, reheat the water, and keep it warm as we take turns soaking. In Japan, this isn’t luxury—it’s just how it’s done. Bathing here is a nighttime ritual. You wash first, then enter the tub clean, not to scrub—but to relax. 🛁✨ This space isn’t large, but it holds a dream. A promise. One of those small but essential details that transforms a house into a home.
