The Episode 4 of Searching for Pioneers Season 2 came to Golden Ridge Upper-cloister at the foot of the Great Wall. Be it the mastery of “skill in the ability to follow and borrow from existing landscape, and artistry in the feeling of suitability created”, or that aesthetic realm of "a lonely boat, a staw-hatted old man, fishing alone in the cold river with falling snow" (poem by Liu Zongyuan), the practice of architect Liu Yichun and his Atelier Deshaus for many years has been a forceful response to urban communities, expressed with a soft sensitivity, and in pursuit of a unique, detached sense of beauty finely crafted from the inside out.
