Last week, after finishing work at one of my clients' houses, I noticed the house next door. As I got closer, I saw that there were a lot of dry leaves in front of the house, and the left side of the house was overgrown. It was also clear that the backyard resembled a jungle, although the house did not appear to be abandoned. So I decided to knock on the door. A few minutes later, an 80-year-old grandmother opened the door. I offered her my assistance. She was surprised but agreed, asking how much I would charge for it. I replied that I would do it for free, as I had some free time in the coming days. When we went out into the yard, she told me that the backyard had not been cleaned for more than 15 years because she lived alone and could not maintain such a large garden. Only occasionally did one of her neighbors help her trim the bushes near the house. I promised her that I would come back after the weekend. So, on Monday, I came back here and immediately got to work. First, I decided to clear the leaves in the yard in front of the house, so I used a rake to gather them all into bags. Then I trimmed some bushes in front of the house with a trimmer. After that, I cleaned everything up again and blew away all the remaining leaves with a backpack blower. Then I went to the left side of the house and trimmed some small bushes, after which I cleaned everything up again. I had to put everything in bags and leave them in front of the house because my car was parked quite far away due to the lack of parking. While I was working, I noticed that my camera was not behaving as usual; something was wrong, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Then, using a trimmer, I removed the weeds and trimmed the ivy near the porch and on the left side of the house, but when I moved to the yard, I realized that the trimmer would be too much work, so I left and brought a machine to remove moss and weeds. Then I used the machine to clean the sidewalks near the house. There was a lot of moss in the yard. After that, I collected everything in bags and started trimming some bushes. I also cut down more than a meter of yew that was on the other side. Then I cleaned the chicken coop, which was completely covered with ivy. I also gradually moved on to cleaning the trees of ivy and removing the excess bushes that were growing everywhere. I also had to put on another pair of thick gloves to remove the blackberry vines that had taken over the entire garden. After that, I decided to use a trimmer with a metal attachment to remove the blackberries. It was getting late, so I decided to continue the next day. Imagine my disappointment when I returned home and discovered that my camera had not saved the last two hours of video where I was trimming the thuja near the house, and the part where I was removing ivy with a trimmer behind the chicken coop had also been completely deleted. I checked the camera and found that it showed that it was recording, but in fact it was not. It was also clear that it was spontaneously moving the video, especially when I was removing moss with the machine. I was very upset, but there was nothing I could do about it. So I replaced the camera with a new one and continued working the next day, starting with the blackberries. At the end of the yard, I found a large pile of rotten branches. It turned out that someone had cut down a large spruce tree and just left it there. The tree was practically rotten, but I couldn't take it all to the dump because there was too much of it. So I warned the owner that I would gather it all into a pile and possibly order a container in the near future to take it all away at once. I also cut down a heavily overgrown willow tree, and when I was dragging it, I couldn't understand why it was so heavy. It turned out that its branches had simply grown into the ground and taken root. I also cut down a few more small trees. As always, it was raining, and I got soaked to the skin, but there was very little left. I drove my car closer to the house and took the cuttings to the trailer. The work took me two days, or about 12 hours. I also took away two full trailers, but there is still a lot left. Now I need a container and a shredder. Although the yard has changed significantly, there is still a lot to do!
