A mix of realistic scenes in the real world and 2D animated scenes in the style of the 2017 MLP movie in Equestria. At Clifford's company, Ethan takes Mia to see inventions. Bill, filming, tries to interview scientists, but Mia prefers Disney princesses. Clifford arrives to talk to his nephew Ethan and Mia, treating them like family. Bill interrupts the interview, but Clifford comically doesn't want to be interviewed. Jacob and the mayor discuss a new project. At home, Lena is on the phone and Ethan's father, James Rivers (Morgan Freeman), answers. He was fishing (and was also one of the children who went to Equestria in the past) and wants to know if he's okay with Mia. James gets a little emotional with her and her family, and after ending the call, the comically kind James fishes out a shoe. Clifford and scientists press a button and open a dimensional portal. Ethan says, "Let's go!" Twilight: "Improvising." The Mane Six and Spike reunite. Twilight gives a courageous speech about going to the other kingdom of Equestria to help stop Maximus. The Mane Six try to warn of something coming—a large portal—and they run, but one by one they are absorbed by the portal. Twilight tries to hold Spike, but Spike escapes, and Twilight runs until she is sucked into the portal. In the real world, scientists locate... Six energies are coming towards the portal which is about to explode, everyone is retreating, Clifford tries to shut it down but six unknown and colored energies partially destroy the portal and are rising, destroying the lab roof and scattering separately across New York.
