Max Payne 3 with mods Setup: Mac Mini M4 16GB 10CPU/10GPU, macOS 26.2 Tahoe, CrossOver 26 Beta 2, DXMT v0.72, MSync. Settings: 1440p resolution, Very High graphics settings, DirectX 11 mode. Performance averages over 90 FPS without screen recording (estimate). Chapter V in the video is one of the most demanding chapters in the game. This game runs well using DXMT in DirectX 11 mode. And both ReShade and ASI mods can be used. Notes: 1. The game also runs with D3DMetal, but there were some slowdowns and some minor graphical glitches in some places. I also tried using DXVK, but the performance suffered a lot. 2. The game runs fine under a Windows 11 virtual machine (Parallels/VMware), but performance was lower using the same settings. 3. The game may fail to launch with CrossOver initially, while trying to auto-determine graphics settings. If that is the case, using a ready-made config file resolves this issue.
