Building a cruising sailboat I'm working towards getting the boat closed up for the coming colder weather, so, after the forward hatch last week, it's the turn of the main entrance hatchway. The vertical opening of the companionway hatch is framed up ready for the washboards. Also, the deck boxes are sealed in where they led into the cabin area and the deck stringers are filleted and sealed. The boat is constructed of exterior quality plywood, sealed with epooxy and sheathed in glass fibre and epoxy. One of the great beauties of these boats is that the ballast keel is fitted towards the end of the build, enabling the boat to be kept lower in the shed for most of the construction time. The keel and rudder are fitted shortly before launch. Thank you! Tony
