Free Radt - For the Good of Mankind (from Star Radt)

This started from a demo drum track I did before I went into the studio and recorded the drums. The original version was conceived on a digital drum set, and then I decided to produce the song and write lyrics to it. At the time I wrote this, I was going through a heavy prog metal phase and listening to modern bands. As I was organizing the bits of drum video I had, I got the idea to play through the song doing guitar and vocal playthroughs. Due to a heavy schedule of more recording and preparation for live gigs I opted to leave out the bass and keep the original drum video. I will most likely do drum playthroughs of this later as time permits. When the world is in danger, and mankind is headed towards it's own destruction the classic sci-fi plot involves scientists who make attempts to save the world. Usually their efforts are too little too late. This song is about looking at our destructive nature and making efforts to become a civilized being that operates from a higher consciousness. Out there beyond the great nothing. Like savages running. We find resistance. We will escape. A part of us was human in the world we were made in. In a moment they killed that. They killed that and now we're fighting to get it back. Playing parts in the story going throughout eternity. We are the ones who survived without knowing we are the five. Resenting our servitude. Rebel against our captitude. Implemented in us all, we fight against control. Out there beyond the great nothing. Like savages running. We find resistance. We will escape. Revolution from within! Maybe we were misguided in the way we were indoctrinated. Revolution from within to discover the state we are in. Caple of complex emotions love and devotion.
