RahberMath4U In this video, we explain Rotation About a Fixed Point, a key topic from New Secondary Mathematics Book 3 (Grade 8 Cambridge). You will learn: ✔ What rotation is ✔ Centre of rotation ✔ Angle and direction of rotation (clockwise & anticlockwise) ✔ How to rotate shapes step by step ✔ Common exam tips and mistakes This lesson is perfect for Grade 8 Cambridge students, teachers, and anyone preparing for exams. Rotation is a type of transformation that turns a shape around a fixed point. This fixed point is called the Centre of rotation. During a rotation, the shape does not change its size or shape, only its position and orientation. A rotation is described by: the Centre of rotation the angle of rotation (such as 90°, 180°, or 270°) the direction of rotation (clockwise or anticlockwise) When a shape is rotated, every point of the shape moves through the same angle and stays the same distance from the center of rotation. For example, a rotation of 90° anticlockwise turns the shape a quarter turn to the left around the fixed point. #RahberMath4U #Grade8Math #CambridgeMath #rotation #Transformations #secondarymath
