FROM A DANCER'S DREAM TO A TALENTED DANCE GROUP | John Huy Tran - UDG | TEDxUEH

Although born and bred in Canada, John Huy Tran decided to come back Vietnam to turn his dancing dream into the truth. On the path to his current success, he has been struggling with a great deal of difficulties to the point that for a couple of times, he thought about giving up. However, the flickering passion fire inside his heart helped him overcome all challenges to become an excellent dancer and even grow a new generation of talented dancers - Urban Dance Group (UDG). Coming together in 2009, UDG (Urban Dance Group) is a gathering of many dancers of different styles and backgrounds. UDG aims at strengthening the role of choreography, dance and dancers within Vietnam by transforming words and messages into movement and dance. UDG dancers are probably amongst the first Jazz dancers in Vietnam. All the dancers train at Dancenter with a group of international dance instructors and choreographers in all dance styles, from Ballet to Break. Many of UDG are top dancers of So You Think you Can Dance and Got To Dance Vietnam. UDG dancers perform regularly in TV shows, public and private events. UDG is known through three dance shows: Song – Life is a game (2014), Jazz! (2013), and Spot Light (2011).
