PlayStation Home 2025 - Dream Hideaway / Shell

The developer Lockwood created many beautiful spaces for PlayStation Home, including the Dream suite of personal spaces. Most of these were part of their LKWD Life program, which enabled players to accrue points and gain rewards for daily visits. What many people may not know is that the Dream Hideaway was based on a real life house that is located in Japan. The Shell House or Shell Residence (actual name "Shell" or "Work #50) was designed by Kotaro Ide and built in 2008. It is located at Karuizawa, Nagano in Japan. When examining "Shell", it is clear that the Dream Hideaway was inspired by this beautiful architect designed home. This attractive and luxurious house features on the front cover of the 2020 edition of "Contemporary Houses: 100 Homes around the world" as well as an entry in the book of course.
