Today, we had the honour of capturing the stunning Punjabi wedding ceremony of Rhea and Gavin at the Gurudwara, and what a truly heartfelt experience it was. Sikh ceremonies always hold such a beautiful depth of meaning, and today was no different. The Gurudwara was filled with a serene, almost magical energy as Rhea and Gavin sat before the Guru Granth Sahib, beginning their journey as husband and wife. One of the most emotional moments was during the palla ceremony, when Rhea’s father gently placed one end of Gavin’s scarf, the palla, into Rhea’s hands. It was a simple yet profoundly meaningful gesture, symbolising his blessing and the bond between them. It was impossible not to feel the weight of that moment as Rhea’s tears flowed, a mix of joy, gratitude, and the bittersweet feeling of leaving her father’s home to start this new chapter. Sikh weddings have a way of making you pause and appreciate the profound connections between family, tradition, and love. They’re a perfect reminder that weddings aren’t just about two people coming together, they’re about families and generations intertwining, rooted in faith and culture.
