WHY THIS VEHICLE? Another amazing rare find is this 1972 Moskvitch IZH-412. The 412 is your typical family sedan from the Soviet Union and is in remarkable condition. The exterior is a beautiful light green color that is nicely accented by the saddle brown and red interior. The IZH varies from your typical Moskvitch of the time by retaining its round headlights and chrome grille. Moskvitch's were moving towards square headlights and plastic grilles. The traditional looks make for a wonderful appearance and character that is all it's own. The color-matched rims look great, and the chrome trim is also in fantastic condition. A wonderful time capsule of a vehicle. Moving inside, you will first notice the stitched steering wheel. Covered in plastic that makes for an easier grip and works wonderfully with the colors of this Moskvitch. The color-correct dashboard is all metal, and the glove box opens and closes with authority. All gauges and controls work just as they should. The removable radio is present and can be updated to reach FM and AM channels. The seats are very supportive and plush, with no signs of wear on the seat surfaces. A very comfortable ride, perfect for date nights and drive-ins. All knobs and switches work perfectly, and all door latches and window cranks are fully functional. The full vinyl floor makes for a utilitarian finish that is easily kept clean and keeps belongings secure while in motion. The rear window sports a custom window shade that reduces incoming light and adds a touch more of class to the interior of this 412. The trunk space is ample, and a complete tool kit, spare tire, and first aid kit are included. Zero rust is present in the trunk area, and the floors and panels are clean and free of any moisture. The engine compartment is just as clean as the interior. The period-correct plaques are riveted securely to the body, and the plucky engine fires right up with only the slightest pull of the choke. A strong running Moskvitch that does not hesitate and shifts and drives wonderfully. A perfect car to cruise at between 50 and 60 mph. This Moskvitch loves the backroads, and its added ride height and comfortable suspension soak up even the worst road conditions with ease.
