In the first-ever episode of Grassroots, Mitchel and Benedicta, winners of the Nursing Now Challenge Global Solutions Initiative in collaboration with the Sabin Vaccine Institute’s Global HPV Consortium, discuss their work to raise awareness of HPV and cervical cancer, break stigma, and empower nurses to lead prevention and education efforts. This conversation shines a light on the challenges communities face and the innovative solutions nurses are developing. In October 2024, the Nursing Now Challenge and the Global HPV Consortium launched a new Global Solutions Initiative. Over seven weeks, hundreds of nurses and midwives from around the world took part in webinars and workshops exploring innovative approaches to HPV prevention, detection, and treatment, while also developing creative, community-driven approaches to reducing the HPV burden. From this global cohort, three winners were selected and invited to speak at the Global HPV Consortium Global Partners Meeting in February 2025.
