I recently attended an exhibit at the Burke Museum in Seattle WA. "Woven in Wool - Resilience in Coast Salish Weaving". I got my copy of Handwoven Magazine in the mail earlier this week and was surprised to see the article on this exhibit. This is a fascinating exhibit about how the Coast Salish peoples bred and used fur from the Woolly Dog (now extinct), mixed with mountain goat wool and other fibers, to weave garments & blankets.
