After a 4h "collectivo" ride from the city of PALENQUE + a 1h boat ride on the "Rio Usumacinta" I finally arrived at YAXCHILAN. This awesome MAYA site is almost hidden completely. Eventually you see a stone structure from the boat and you know you have arrived. What a good feeling! :) I FOUND SOME SECRET GLYPHS!!! :) Injoy. The palace/temple on top of the highest mount is very impressive. Never seen anything like this before in term of roof architecture. They also place a lot of explanation around the site to explain the work of the archeologist and the reign of some women rulers. I loved it! I loved it so much that the group I was with had to find me and tell me it was time to go.
