The cabin on Lot 32 is coming along so great, but what makes this build so special is quite simply the location. Built high above the mighty Fraser River, on a bedrock bluff, this location offers a world class view up and down the Fraser River. Full of life and activity, this river is so fascinating to watch, and this winter brought even more excitement. The perfect combination of weather and events has lead to a completely frozen ice jam, spanning nearly 40 km, causing a 20 foot lift in the river. With warm weather settling in, it is only a matter of time before this glorious event comes to an end, so we head out for a proper explore of the ice jam. Growing up in this area, with a heavy appetite for exploring, I know the back routes quite well. There are limited access points to the Fraser River in this area, but a tour along the east and west side of the river gave us a great view and a great tour through some of the historic ranchland of this area. Getting back to the lot, it was time to get right into projects, and it felt great to start crossing things off the list. By next week, I assume the Ice Jam will be gone, and I can get back into full time focus on the Lot.
