Amazon indoor plant grow lights tested | Spoiler - They are junk

Testing the most popular plant and herb led grow light kits from Amazon. I setup each light fixture over a standard size test area of 15" x 9" or 38cm x 23cm (a standard size for a garden seed tray). Each light was the same height of 9 "or 22cm above the test area and using an Apogee SQ500 quantum sensor. The target PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation or a measure of the light that plants use) for seedlings and young plants is about 250 PAR. Unfortunately these fixtures are not anywhere near this performance and in my view are not going to work. How they have the ratings on Amazon is a mystery to me. I tested these as part of market research into releasing a seedling light, the ARAY 1 which delivers 360 PAR over three times the area so it has enough output to grow seedlings on reduced dimmer settings all the wat up to flowering or fruiting plants in a small area.
