Decoding AIS marine traffic with SDR# and Multipsk, 24 August 2022, 2047 UTC

On holiday again at the sea and then I remembered that I have never done AIS decoding before, because I can not receive AIS signals at my home QTH. Here is one of my first AIS decode with SDR# v1.0.0.1888 , Multipsk 4.46.1, Airspy HF+ Discovery and a MegActiv MA305FT at JO33NL, 24 August 2022, 2047 UTC. AIS (Automatic Identification System) is used in VHF for maritime navigation on 161.975 or 162.025 MHz. The main aim of this system is to identify ships and their position. This is realized through radio messages about navigational information transmitted from one ship to another or to coast stations. This system secures maritime routes by permitting to avoid collisions. AIS has other functions as search and rescue. Thanks for watching!
