John Wall Bad Defense - 2017 NBA ECSF (PART 1)

I actually like John Wall as a player because of his offensive game. He was good enough to become the only player to average 27+ PPG and 10+ APG in a playoff run lasting more than 1 round. But as fun as it is to watch his offense, his defense needs a lot of improvement. In Games 3 and 4 Wall played good overall defense, but for the other 5 games of the series his defense was poor. Wall mostly guarded Isaiah Thomas and in the later games he guarded Avery Bradley more often. Isaiah repeatedly beat Wall off the dribble and with good use of screens. There were several times where Isaiah would use just one screen on Wall and get an easy pull-up or wide-open lane. It seems that Wall often expected his help defense to bail him out, and as such didn't give as much effort as the primary defender on Isaiah.
