Shoulder pain is rarely just a shoulder issue. The shoulder does not operate independently of the rest of the body. In particular, the only way a shoulder can function properly is if the contralateral leg and hip can work properly. Quite often the serratus, lower trapezius, and triceps muscles become inactive due to the Right BC Pattern. When this occurs, the SCM and latissimus muscles start to take over function of the arms. However, treatment for shoulder pain can't simply focus on those muscles. You likely always find weakness in the contralateral hip musculature as well. You need to be able to support your body's weight on one leg, without using compensatory muscle before you have any chance of treating shoulder pain. The most basic reason is that breathing mechanics become compensatory when you can use your diaphragms for respiration. Diaphragms can't engage unless the pelvis and ribcage are stable. The left AIC and right BC patterns ensure that this stability has been lost. So the resolution of shoulder pain must include re-establishing diaphragmatic breathing and working on hip musculature strength. https://pritrainer.com/pri-left-aic-r...
