LOCATION: Somerset - Bridlewood CTrain Station, Calgary, Alberta, Canada DATE: July 18, 2024 TIME: Late Evening (Twilight), 9-10 PM~ *My footage is free to use with content, but with the request that if you use my content you give proper credit Playlist of my CTrain Station Tours:    • Canada Train Stations   Somerset-Bridlewood Station is the present day terminus (last station) on the Southern Red Line. It is after Shawnessy Station and is located in between the Calgary communities of Shawnessy and Somerset. It services the Shawville area of Shawnessy - a heavy suburban commercial area - and is located on Shawville Gate SW. The station acts as a physical landmark to mark the border between the communities of Somerset and Shawnessy. Somerset-Bridlewood Station was opened in 2004 as apart of the second phase of the early 2000s Southern Red Line expansion. It opened alongside Shawnessy Station, and features a design almost identical to McKnight-Westwinds Station on the Northeast Blue Line. The station despite not at all being in or near the community or Bridlewood and only featuring one bus route going through Bridlewood, got it's name from a land dispute at the time between the communities of the area (source: QnA with Calgary Transit ambassador in Edmonton). This means despite it's jank name, it is unlikely to change to 'Somerset Station' or 'Shawville Station' anytime soon.
